Expansion is rarely blocked by ambition. It’s blocked by friction.

SilkyGate exists to remove that friction, one market at a time.

Companies that have built something successful in China, Singapore or Seoul don’t lack ambition. They usually have more of it than their European competitors.

What they lack, when they look at Europe or the Gulf, is specific: a local team, local relationships, a sense of which market to enter first, and a way of finding out what works before spending a lot of money on it.

Those are solvable problems. We solve them.

The name is a small nod to a very old idea. Goods, ideas and people have moved between East and West for a long time, and the journey was always easier for those who knew the route and had someone waiting at the other end.

That’s the job. Know the route. Be the someone at the other end.

What we believe about this work

On strategy
A strategy nobody executes is a document. We only write plans we’re prepared to run.
On speed
Move fast where mistakes are cheap. Slow down where they aren’t. Knowing the difference is the skill.
On culture
Cultural intelligence is practical, not decorative. It decides who takes your call and who doesn’t.
On experiments
Test before you commit. A market that says no early is a gift.
On handing over
The best outcome is a client who no longer needs us in that market, because their own team now runs what we built.

People who have done this before, on both sides.

The team combines operators who have taken products into new markets with specialists in research, localization, sales development and growth, working across APAC, Europe and the Middle East.

We’ll introduce the people you’d actually work with in a conversation, rather than on a wall of headshots.

Let’s openthe next market.

Tell us where you’re going. We’ll tell you what we’d do first.
